Explosions are such a pain to draw, 2 hours just to draw those things. I blame half of it on being picky on which color should go where. It was worth it in the end. Also, that red overlay in the last half of comic also had some visual issues, but I think it came out pretty well. On top of it all, I started to add textures to Zack and the trees. I know it happens to the tress after the first row. I hope you guys don't mind.

News More fan art!? This is very generous of JimLad and Vorquel to provide more works of art. One of Blue in a Ice Cave (by JimLad), and the other showing Blue's Wrath (by Vorquel). Honestly, I love to receive this stuff. It makes a comic worth making. Seriously guys, thanks!

Also, I've added five pages of concept art to the Fillers & Fan Art section. I even edited the links to they lead to a unique page with a little bit of commentary on the right side of the picture. So there is no need to explain the concept stuff here. :D

Oh, and come back tomorrow for the Halloween special.

As near as I can tell, Laputians are citizens of the floating city of Laputa. Laputa was the name of a location from the book Gulliver's Travels. Laputa was distinguished from the other locales by simultaneously having the highest technology and lowest common sense of an of the domains Gulliver visited.

You seem to like causing pain for Kirby.

I'm mesmerized by those bushes. Their stares are quite touching. (' ')

Oh, I have a feeling you'll be drawing a lot of explosions in the future, so ye better get used to it. :P

A few tips:
Whatever you're exploding will create some sort of debris you can draw in. If it happens in mid-air or on something that doesn't get destroyed it can still create particles, which can be added easily as lots of dots toward the edges.

Also in some cases you could add 'streams' which is a term I just made up and means yellow/orange/red lines, shooting out of it, curved depending on the direction of the blast/impact.

Also also, did you say you used Photoshop?
If you want to create a glow (or flare), select the brush tool with a light colour (yellow or red for explosions) set the opacity to about 20% and the flow to about 25%, choose a relatively fat round brush and go over the whole object once, leaving a soft edge around the outside. You can go over it again to make the glow as strong as you want.
You can use grey to create smoke effects too.

...but it's up to you, they're just some things you could experiment with.
